“Any member must bring to the attention of the Grievance Committee any violation of the rules by any member of the Association. Upon investigation by the Grievance Committee, their findings will be presented as a recommendation to the Board of Directors, who will handle such infractions as they deem fit.”

1. All participants must be members in good standing of BCMAC (METRO).

2. Membership into BCMAC (METRO) is at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors.

3. METRO Show hours shall be deemed to be between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM daily and to include 1 day prior to the market.

4. Any line deemed not cleared or in dispute by BCMAC or CAWS cannot be exhibited at METRO. All lines shown must be properly cleared by the member.  Members must contact the previous sales representative to clear a line.

5. All market membership dues or fees as well as any other outstanding obligations, such as fines, must be paid in full prior to participation in each Market.

6. Any lines that are being shown at METRO cannot be shown at the same time at any competing Market.

7. All Members must file a Market Application and register all lines to be shown prior to Market deadline dates. There will be an automatic late-filing fee of $100.00 for any late application. Furthermore, we cannot guarantee that any late application will be included in the Market Directory.

8. It is the responsibility of any member who rents their showroom to another sales representative or agency during market time, to ensure that the sales representative or agency they are renting to, file a Market Application for METRO. Failure to do so may result in fines being levied at the discretion of the Board of Directors or being declared a member not in good standing of BCMAC.

9. Show fees are collected on a per business basis. If one or more business share a showroom and exhibit during show times, all businesses are required to pay show fees.

10. All fines and additional fees must be paid within 30 days of receipt of notification they are due. Any appeal of fines, fees, etc. must be received, in writing, within 30 days of the member’s notification. All fines and additional fees must be paid in advance of the hearing of the appeal.

11. Members are responsible for outstanding monies owed by their suppliers that place ads in the Market guide.

12. Members and their staff are not permitted to solicit buyers outside of their offices, hotel rooms or booths. Any violations will be fined at the discretion of the board.

13. Members are responsible for the actions of their associates and or employees during the Markets. They must ensure that their associates or employees abide by all Market rules, regulations and etiquette.

14. Members and their staff shall refrain from serving alcoholic beverages or banned substances at any time during Market business hours.

15. No Member shall be permitted to hold entertainment events during the Market without prior approval of the Board of Directors.

16. All Market participants shall give courteous reception and shall allow entry to their offices, showrooms, hotel rooms or booths at any time during the market of an authorized BCMAC representative or committee member.

17. Any give-a-ways or promotions must be approved by the Board of Directors prior to the Market.

18. Gambling of any kind is strictly forbidden during Market hours.

19. Members are fully responsible for all items brought to the Market. BCMAC bears no responsibility for any missing articles.

20. Members’ displays (signs, banners, posters, mannequins or any other type of advertising) must remain within the confines of their office, showroom, hotel room or booth.

21. Members agree not to solicit lines represented by other BCMAC Members.

22. The Hospitality Suite is for retailers only during Market hours. Members and their associates or employees are not allowed in the Hospitality Suite.

23. With respect to all press inquiries, the Board of Directors will be the sole official spokespersons for the Markets.

24. During association Market meetings, (Annual General Meetings, Extra Ordinary or Special) a BCMAC member must be in attendance. All B.C. MAC meetings are compulsory.

25. The Board of Directors shall have full power to interpret and/or amend these rules and make any additional rules and regulations which, in its discretion, shall be in the best interest of the Market.

26. Any violation of these rules will be subject to at the discretion of the Board of Directors:

a. An automatic fine

b. Any other disciplinary action called for by the Constitution of BCMAC or these Market Rules and Regulations.

By filing an application to participate in a Market, the member agrees that they have read and understood these rules and further agrees to abide by them.
